First Look
On the Radar This Weekend
Start Friday wandering downtown at the Second Friday Artwalk. Open Door Gallery & Studio is this month’s featured venue, with Casper artist Brianna McFarland showing her whimsical wildlife portraits and on hand for an artist reception. Later, Rome headlines Fridays on the Plaza for a summer night of live music, food and drinks at the Depot. Kick your Saturday off with the 98th Annual Albin Day, which will feature parades, races, bingo, vendors, firefighter activities, meals, raffles, karaoke, cornhole, horseshoes, a night show, fireworks and more. Back in Cheyenne, the Wyoming International Film Festival keeps rolling at LCCC with a weekend full of indie films and nightly parties. Then wrap Sunday with booing the villain at The 70th Old-Fashioned Melodrama at the Historic Atlas Theatre. See you out there!

Wyoming International Film Festival (Also Sat & Sun) | 9:50 a.m. | LCCC, 1400 E College Dr | $10+ | The Wyoming International Film Festival continues into the weekend with 170 indie films and nightly parties.

Second Friday Artwalk Cheyenne | 5:00 p.m. | Downtown Cheyenne | Free to Attend | Slow down during one of Cheyenne’s busiest months with Second Friday Artwalk. You’ll find local art, live music and a chance to wander downtown for a bit. Open Door Gallery & Studio (1609 Central Ave) is the featured venue and will showcase Casper artist Brianna McFarland, who paints whimsical wildlife portraits and will be on hand for an artist reception.

Fridays on the Plaza: Rome | 6:00 p.m. | Cheyenne Depot Plaza, 121 W 15th St | Free to Attend | Rome headlines this week’s FOTP, for a summer night of live music, food, and drinks.

The 70th Old-Fashioned Melodrama (Also Sat & Sun | 7:00 p.m. | Historic Atlas Theatre, 211 W Lincolnway | $17+ | Cheyenne Little Theatre’s old-fashioned melodrama is back with with a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud trip to the birth of a nation.

Hell on Wheels Rodeo and Chuck Wagon Dinner Series | 7:00 p.m. | Laramie County Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena, 3801 Archer Pkwy | $30+ | Western action is back at fairgrounds, with broncs, barrels, bulls and the option to start the night with a chuck wagon dinner.

98th Annual Albin Day | 8:30 a.m. | Albin, WY | Free to Attend | Albin Day returns for its 98th year with a full small-town Saturday of parades, races, bingo, a craft and vendor fair, firefighter activities, meals, raffles, karaoke, cornhole, horseshoes, a night show, fireworks and more!
